Overview

Industrial automation demands real-time control, flexible interfaces and long service life. Factory equipment runs for years, often in harsh conditions, and it must keep working when the surrounding environment is noisy and hot. STMicroelectronics supplies the microcontrollers, power devices and sensors that industrial designers rely on, and BeiLuo supplies them as an authorized STMicroelectronics distributor with FAE support for control and power design.

Real-Time Control

The defining requirement of industrial control is determinism: a control loop must execute at a fixed rate regardless of other system activity. The STM32 family provides fast timers, deterministic interrupt handling and the compute to run control loops and communication stacks at the same time. The Cortex-M7 STM32H743VIT6, running at 480 MHz with cache and tightly coupled memory, gives the headroom that complex machines need, while the mainstream STM32F4 family covers simpler controllers. Because the whole family shares the STM32Cube ecosystem, a product family can span several devices without rewriting its software.

Industrial Interfaces

Factory equipment must speak the languages of the factory: fieldbus, industrial Ethernet, CAN and serial protocols. The STM32 peripherals and middleware cover these interfaces, so a controller can connect to drives, sensors and the plant network without a separate communication chip.

Drives and Power Stages

Machine motion depends on drives, and drives depend on power devices. STPOWER IGBTs such as the STGW60H65DFB provide the rugged, efficient switching that a drive bridge needs, with a soft-recovery diode that keeps switching loss and EMI low. For lower-voltage stages, STPOWER MOSFETs offer low conduction loss. The power stage and the controller are designed together, because the gate drive and dead time are set by the controller and the switching behaviour feeds back into the control loop.

Condition Monitoring

Unplanned downtime is expensive, and condition monitoring is the way to avoid it. A MEMS accelerometer such as the LIS3DH samples machine vibration, and the STM32 processes the signal to detect bearing wear, imbalance or misalignment before failure. The same low-power sensors used in consumer products serve here, because the physics of vibration does not change with the market.

Reliability and Lifecycle

Industrial products must survive noise, temperature and vibration, and they must be available for years. Choose industrial temperature grades, keep the noisy power stage away from the sensitive control logic, and confirm the lifecycle of every device in the bill of materials. BeiLuo plans long-term availability against your production forecast and supports the design through its life.

Why BeiLuo

We hold mainstream STM32, STPOWER and MEMS parts in regional stock and ship them with import, origin and RoHS documentation. Our FAE team supports control partitioning, power design and sensor integration from concept through production.

Validating on the Factory Floor

Industrial products are validated in the conditions they will meet: wide temperature, electrical noise and vibration. Measure the control loops under load, confirm the communication interfaces with the real network, and test the design at the temperature and noise extremes. A design that works on the bench but fails on the factory floor costs far more to fix than to test early.

Next Steps

Send your control, power and lifecycle requirements and we will propose a device set, confirm availability, and supply samples for bench validation.
